Mr Ronald J. Ulrich | Chairman
Ron has been Chairman of the African Parks Foundation since 2012. He was founder and is currently Senior Advisor to Breithorn Capital Management, a private investment firm in New York, and was formerly the founder and Chairman of Equinox Capital Management. Before that he was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, Inc. where he co-founded their asset management division. He is a graduate of Lehigh University and The New York University Graduate School of Business. He has had extensive experience with non profit organizations and is on the Executive Committee of The New York Philharmonic. He was a twenty year trustee of Lehigh University where he is a Trustee Emeritus and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2002. He has also served on the boards of The Lincoln Center of Performing Arts, The Wildlife Conservation Society, The New Canaan Country School, and The Lyford Cay Club where he was on the Executive Committee and Chaired the Finance Committee. Ron and his wife's conservations interests extend from animal rescue to protection of species and habitat throughout Africa, Asia and North America. They are regular visitors to Africa.
Mr James J. Coleman Jr. | Board Member / International-Maltex Tank Terminals (IMTT)
Jim is the Chairman of International Matex Tank Terminals; a Managing Partner of the law firm, Coleman, Johnson, and Artigues in New Orleans and President of the Coleman Development Company, a real estate developer and management company. He has been a board member, trustee, and council member of numerous organizations including the Coast Guard Foundation, the Liberty Science Center, the Princeton University History Council, the Royal St. George Society, and the Museum of Modern Art. Jim has become an active supporter of African Parks and is strongly dedicated to animal conservation our education programs.
Mr Jon Cummings | Board Member
Jon Cummings is a Director at McKinsey & Company and has been with the firm since 1987. Jon began his career in Chicago and was in South Africa from 1994 to 2002, where he co-founded the Johannesburg Office and was the Office Manager for seven years. Jon currently is the leader of McKinsey’s Americas Packaged Goods practice and is based in New Jersey. Prior to joining McKinsey, Jon received his BA from Yale University in the U.S. and a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics in the U.K.
Mr Thomas Gallagher | Board Member and The Scowcroft Group - Washington, DC
Tom Gallagher is a Principal at the Scowcroft Group. Prior to joining Scowcroft, he was a Senior Managing Director and head of ISI's Policy Research Team in Washington. He was an Institutional Investor's ranked Washington analyst for 17 years, and was ranked No 1 for seven years. Prior to joining ISI in 1999, Tom spent 13 years at Lehman and eight years in the federal government. Tom graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1976, received his MPP from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government in 1978 and is a CFA charterholder.
Ms Anna Mcwane | Board Member
An AP board member since 2007, Anna is a 1985 graduate of Duke University with a BA in political science. She also received an MA in development studies from the London School of Economics in 1988. Anna combines a strong interest in international affairs with a commitment to social and educational issues. A lifelong animal lover and competitive equestrian, she strongly supports AP's efforts to preserve threatened species and wild places throughout Africa.
Ms Donna Schwartz | Board Member
Donna has been an extraordinary advocate for conservation and animal related causes for many years. She has been a major supporter of a range of organizations including the Bideawee Animal Rescue Program, the Doe Fund, the Westchester and North Salem Land Trusts and the Wildlife Conservation Society. Along with her husband, Marvin, she is a significant contributor to African Parks including our programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Chad. They have a special interest and strong commitment toward saving elephants and other large mammals.
A long time advocate for conservation, Edith has channeled her passion for species protection and habitat conservation into active leadership positions for more than three decades. She has been a Trustee of the Wildlife Conservation Society for 30 years and served as Vice Chair of that organization. She has also been a Director and Vice Chairman of Rare Conservation. She has served on the International Council of Advisors for the National Geographic Society and is a Director of Panthera, Rainforest Trust, and the Lewa Conservancy in Kenya. She is a leading advocate for elephant and rhino protection efforts across Africa and has broadened her reach to large cat conservation in Asia, North and South America, and Africa. A native of California and England, she resides in New York City.
